Yesterday, we reported that Fifty Cent is expected to take the stage for a “surprise” performance in his old hood Jamaica, Queens on Family Day scheduled to take place on August 30th. Well, amid fears that the festive day would be ruined by gun violence, Fifty Cent has scrapped his plans to perform and now NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg has stepped in to assure community members that there’s a possibility the rapper might show up, but he definitely won’t be taking the stage. NYC Mayor Bloomberg issued a statement saying,

“Our understanding after talking with 50 Cents (sic) is he has no plans to perform whatsoever. He might go, but he’s not going to perform.”
