CHRISETTE MICHELE’S “EPHIPHANY” DEBUTS @ NO. 1?! SAY WORD!

Congrats to Chrisette Michele for beating Ciara in the race for the No. 1 album, but her victory is definitely a sign of the times!  Now, in no way am I knocking Chrisette because she really is talented, but since when does selling 83,000 units of an album make it No. 1?!  Apparently, it’s actually the lowest sale total for a No. 1 debut in the history of the Nielsen Soundscan. Unfortunately, poor Ciara’s Fantasy Ride only sold a depressing 81,000 copies. Now, I really didn’t expect that especially since she really went hard promoting the album. I honestly thought CiCi would’ve murdered the charts, but then again the leaks from the album were already weak! So, is the economy to blame for the lack of album sales or are people just fed up with the music industry?!
