Won’t be watching this. They could have at least gotten some recognizable faces.

Ok, so yesterday I turned on E! and saw the show ” Candy Girls. ” It totally sickened me. That show is the epitome of everything that is wrong with Hip Hop. I kid you not, they called these women ” The Queens of Hip Hop ! ” This show is about Video Girls and has nothing to do with Hip Hop whatsoever. I just felt completely irrate while I was watching. It’s sad that women like them get a TV Show and are glorified for being classless and promiscuous. My view is, instead of giving a bunch of Video Hoes a show, why don’t they give Hip Hop Artists a show. I figure if they are going to capitalize and get rich off of being the bottom feeders of the industry, why don’t they give the people that need a TV Show more than them ( up & coming Hip Hop Artists )??? I modeled professionally for over 11 years. It’s insulting to call these Video Girls, Models. They are not models. They would never book a real modeling gig. If any of these women stepped into a casting for Ford or Elite Models, they would be kicked out the door instantly. You would never see any of these women walking the runways in Milan or in a spread in Vogue Magazine. This show is a ghetto mess, and gives women a bad name. I’ve worked in the Hip Hop Industry for years and shows like Candy Girls gives women that are REALLY working in the Hip Hop Industry a bad wrap and reputation. What has the world come to when we glorify sluts? I’m not saying that all Video Girls are whores but about 99% of them are. Believe me I’ve been on the sets of plenty of video shoots and I’ve witnessed what these women do. I’ve seen them go into bathrooms with the artists and all of the artists’ friends and have sex with all of them at the same time just to get ” camera time ” in the video. I don’t get it. Why don’t they give the hard working women in the Hip Hop Industry their own show. I know plenty of hard working women in Hip Hop that do more than put on a thong and shake their ass for camera time and $200.00. These women should be ashamed. Hip Hop Artists DO NOT respect these women, they are the laughing stalk of the industry, they are considered the ” Jump Off. ” What goes through these women’s brain? Do they think these artists are going to marry them and have children? Lol. No one wants a woman like that, especially to marry. I know they are looking for a way out of the hood, most of the time, and they think if they sleep with the Artists, maybe they’ll get lucky and get pregnant or maybe they will marry them and be set for life. I wish they could see what the Artists and Industry people really say about them. They are the lowest on the todom pole. I give this show 2 thumbs down and think people shouldn’t watch it. If you love Hip Hop, support HIP HOP! Don’t support classless women that have an agenda. They are the demise of Hip Hop. They actually said that without them there wouldn’t be Hip Hop . They also stated that they are responsible for making millionaire’s in the Hip Hop Industry. ( Like the Artists had nothing to do with making their careers successful, and some Video Hoe did ). I’m not against all women that do videos and I know some of them are legit, but that is only a select few out of hundreds of thousands. Don’t support classless women. Because at the end of the day when they take off their weave, fake eyelashes, fake nails, and painted on makeup, they are just the average hoodrat from around the way. The 4 Elements of Hip Hop are Emceeing, DJing, Graffiti, and B-Boying. Not Striping, Whoring, Sucking , and *ucking. Women like that should not be celebrated, they should be ostracized. And to all the people that may think I’m being harsh to these women this is what I would say to all the Video Girls…If you want respect to be shown to you…RESPECT yourself.

    Ms. Lynsey C,

I can understand why you have a poor taste in your mouth for these women. However, I feel you are being way too judgemental. While hip hop would definitely exist without them you have to admit that they do keep the music video industry going whether you or I like it or not.

You claim you were a model…So you should understand what it is to put on “weave, fake eyelashes, and nails.” I doubt you sported your own hair, nails, clothes etc. They have a image to sell…this is what they get paid for and if you were a model that should be a simple concept to grasp. Whoever told you it was only $200 they were paid lied to you, it is more esp for the leading girl. Calling them hoodrats doesn’t take away from the fact that they are paid to do what they do. Maybe some of them are hoodrats, maybe some even sleep with the artist but that has nothing to do with you or me.

If you were really such a classy lady you wouldn’t spend your time putting other people down. Maybe the person who should respect themself is you! By the way there is no need to make a comparison of Ford Models or Vogue magazine, to do so is comparing apples and oranges. Clearly the high fashion industry doesn’t favor hip hop culture so what does that have to do with anything? I personally think it’s great that black people have their own forum to do their own thing cause if we waited for Ford Models we’d still be waiting.

Furthermore, don’t assume that every woman wants to get married. And just because they are dancers in videos doesn’t mean they can’t find love or haven’t already. Besides that it’s two adults consenting to have sex…so what is your problem?

I think it’s great that women of hip hop are starting to get a voice. However, I think the show is poorly produced and there needs to be more content to help people understand what it’s really about. Showing girl on girl drama is nothing new and it’s not entertaining.

But what you should know is women who respect themselves don’t have to go around trashing other people, especially other women to make themselves feel better. Everyone has opinions but there is a difference between an opinion and really putting someone down and then comparing them to yourself. Girl please! Calling them hoodrats implies what? That you are somehow about better than that? Why because you were a model for 11 years? And where are you now? Doesn’t even matter what you did 11 years ago. You are yourself and they are themselves. No one is trying to follow your path clearly it got you no where. You USED to be a model as in the past. Get over yourself! Maybe the person who needs a lesson in class is you.

  6. Shawn Says:

I like the show but can’t believe that the one chick(Terika) who went off and who always have something ugly to say didn’t grt kicked in her eye. If she is all that like she think then why does she not have her own business.
Brooke you should truly seperate yourself from the drama cause it is rubbing off on ya
She must truly be unhappy with herself to be so evil. If she see herself on this show, I really hope she change that attitude for her childs sake.
To the other ladies, keep up the good work

  7. BRE Says:

Before I comment on the show I would like to comment on MsLynseyC. It’s funny how your whole little “essay” you had there was completly about putting those women and other models like them dowm. While you tried hard to make an ass of them you made a complete ass of yourself. Putting someone down whether your trying to hurt them or just simply spreaking your mine never make you look cute nor does it make you superior. Oh and what you mean they’re not models? Just because they’re not runway models, strutting down the catwalks in Milan doesnt mean they’re not real models. and since you claim your a former/current model whatever, you should know that they’re various type of models. seems like someones hating!

Anywho i watched the show today for the 1st time and it wass ummm? Ok. I see it didnt take the show long before the drama started, which really wasnt a surprize. Really wasnt a positive image for the company but hey thats reality. I agree with “Aura” they could have at least gotten some recognizable faces. But over all I think this show is a good way to highlight the hiphopvideo models. Hopefully the women on this show represent them well.

  8. Stacy Says:

I am happy these Black women are empolyed and making their money on this reality show for entertainment. The chick who wrote the long essay has mental issues with herself. It’s not your butt, vagina or breast, so why do you care. I accept all people. Matthews:7:1//”Don’t Judge”

  9. Carrie Says:

Candy Girls? more like GHETTO GIRLS…This girls are not even cute…I work in the fashion industry and those type of girls are only seen as whores with bad style…At least as a women have some class

  10. Joyelle Says:

See this is why Terricka is the way she is. You have to have claws because when you’re beautiful everyone will hate on you. They doin they thing so why hate? If you can do it better go be in a video other wise SHUT UP. Shout to Miss bitch! Real bitches do real things.

  14. bela b. Says:

Danielle, you are a classy, intelligent, accomplished woman. Why do you put up with so much disrespect from your employees. You got their back,do they have yours? I don’t know about that.Olivia has class and grace, terrika obviously has some feelings of inferiority. It is so sad. Loyalty is hard to come by ladies. brooke can be cool too. Terrika, beauty is only skin deep( your not even as pretty as the others) but your ugly mouthy attitude goes right to the bone.Danielle get smart and start commanding respect! you deserve it!

  15. lynne Says:

stop hating on these girls, best wishes
