DIDDY: “HIP-HOP IS IN A RECESSION”

Looks like the economy isn’t the only thing struggling. According to Diddy so is Hip-hop and the DJ’s are the ones to blame. He says,
“People have figured out the formula when they make records for radio and DJs ain’t DJs no more. DJs don’t break records no more. DJs don’t play album cuts. DJs play what is going to move the crowd. DJs, they don’t expose you to the newness. That was the DJs’ thing. Hip-hop is in a recession also. (Hip-hop) is not dead, it’s definitely way better than where it was at, as far as with ‘Ye, T.I. and with Jeezy. It’s so much great stuff out there, the responsibility has to come with the DJs.”

I agree with Diddy that Hip-hop isn’t dead, but one thing is for sure it’s definitely washed up! So, do you agree with Diddy?!

LexAve: I agree with Combs on the recession with Hip Hop but I don’t think the DJs have much to do about it. They get paid on the side to play certain joints, I’m sure. Record label execs need jump off the bandwagon and gear Hip Hop in a new direction for others to follow.
