BLOG BEEF: HIPHOPGOSSIPSITE VS. YO RAPS!

Celebrities and rappers aren’t the only ones beefing. Bloggers get it in too! J’More recently put ya gurl, LexAve, onto this new site HipHopGossipSite.com last weekend. This NYC Gossip Girl got some exclusives. Anywhoo, the video above shows her and newfound homie, Charlie Baltimore calling out YoRaps.com as thieves and plagiarizers. In the video Charli goes on to talk about the Notorious flick and how she doesn’t support it and goes in on Lil’ Kim saying “she ain’t beautiful”…OUCH!
But back to the blog beef, check out YoRaps response to HipHopGossipSite:

This morning, we were just a bit perturbed to learn that the source of the story was calling us out as thieves and plagiarizers. As everyone knows, online hip hop journalism is not considered to be “top of the line” in the eyes of the mainstream press. Despite being counted out as the underdog, Yo! Raps is serious about its journalistic obligations and take serious offense to a certain gossip website and Charli Baltimore’s assertions.

Here is how the story really went down:
The source of the interview contacted Yo! Raps first and we talked about a Charli Baltimore interview that was done by the source. We then visited the gossip website for the first time to read the piece. The interviewer agreed that we are allowed to publish the Charli Baltimore interview on Yo! Raps. Before the story was posted the interviewer emailed us saying, “I can’t wait to see it online!” The author’s name was included on the by-line, which is considered sufficient credit as far as journalistic standards are concerned, and we even went on to give out her website URL.
Does this sound like a person that is having something stolen from them?
Instead of taking her shout out and moving on, the source not only spreads lies in an attempt to damage Yo! Raps’ credibility, she brings Charli Baltimore in on a situation the rapper knows nothing about.
We at Yo! Raps would like to apologize to any of our loyal readers who, in light of the erroneous information, felt they weren’t getting credible information. We strive for excellence and the distribution of factual stories. Please excuse our lapse in judgment when dealing with this particular source. The word “Gossip” in the website’s name says it all.

Peace from the Yo! Raps family!

I’m not one to condone beefing but when it comes to jacking stories…somebody gotta get called out! I’m loving how HipHopGossipSite brought in Charli Baltimore to co-sign. That’s why we here on StraightOuttaNYC are adamant about crediting exclusives and giving props where its due- hopefully it gets returned!
