Why is the Gap suddenly so heavily interested in the “urban market”?! This year’s Holiday campaign is called “Merry Mix It” and they recruited Flo Rida, Trey Songz, Janelle Monae, Jennifer Hudson and Ashanti for the campaign. Guess the recession got rappers & RnB thugs trading in their cred for some cash. Brace yourself for a full 1:40 of cringe!
For all who don’t know The Gap is struggling in their sales and with a majority of white folks who fall into the gap, I can’t help but wonder…will these “urban” campaigns save the retail giant?
