WHAT??

I think those comments are some of the stupidest things i have ever heard, and i have been hearing them for MONTHS!!! Because we have a black president now, that makes me obligated to be different or act different? I wasnt supposed to be responsible with Bush, Clinton, Nixon or whoever was in office??

Obama being president is going to change very little for a majority of ppl including African Americans. It can make you proud and give your kids something to aspire towards, but because he is president does not mean that im gonna get a cab any easier in nYc, wont allow me to get into a "A list club" any easier, does not mean that white lady isnt going to tug at her purse when she walks by me in the street, and surely does not mean that im going to get a job over Bill, Bob, or Norton.

Im going to be treated the same in 99% of my life, so im going to act the same in 100% of my life. I dont carry any burden or owe anything to the black race or Obama b/c he is President! Black people should have been trying to uplift themselves and better there lives (Who do you think Obama was waiting for, NOBODY). If you are waiting for a next man to motivate you to greatness, you are not meant to be great, and will never get there. You can't put you faith in other people, put it in yourself.

Jaimie Has a point because there are many Afro-American men that are really being the stereotype we are accused of being, but there are those that THE MAN is holding them down. Obama had to be perfect against a less than perfect opponent just to have a shot. President-Elect Obama's win does not change the racial climate in America. I hope it is the beginning though. I fear race tensions will get worse before it gets better because every extremist group will get more extreme cause they hate what they FEAR. Change is never given. It is fought for
