BEYONCE SPEAKS ON DESTINY’S CHILD SPLIT


Before Destiny’s Child became a trio there was Letoya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson. Unfortunately, both ladies said “Peace!” or were rather kicked out of the group and filed suit against their former manager and Beyonce’s father, Mathew Knowles claiming that he favored Beyonce over the other members. Remember the rumors of Beyonce bleaching her skin to appear lighter than the other members?! Well, B is finally speaking out about the drama regarding the two original members and insists that she’s not the one to blame for the break up. According to the “Single Ladies” hitmaker, she was just a scape goat for their departure. She says,

“It was definitely difficult because I was so young and my father was my manager and the group was like family. I felt like, what are we gonna do? We weren’t making any money yet. I was the lead singer, so I got the blame…That was the first time I had to deal with rumors and people attacking me. I was an 18-year-old kid, so I didn’t understand it was just a part of this life and it wasn’t personal. I didn’t have a thick skin yet. I was so embarrassed and wanted to defend myself and please everybody”.

The Destiny’s Child trio eventually parted ways in 2005. Whatever the case may be, there’s no denying that Beyonce always had a lil’ Diana Ross in her from jump! Real talk, what did the other members expect?! Papa Knowles is a primary example of a stage dad and its in his interest to make his baby the star…can you really blame him?

  • You can blame her Dad for kicking out the original 2 members (LeToya & LaTavia) because he had no reason too. They didn’t leave, they were kicked out because they weren’t the sit there and take anything members that KELLY is. It worked out for the better anyway, LeToya had a very sucessful solo debut and her 2nd Album is dropping early next year. I don’t know what the hell LaTavia is doing, she’s hasn’t been seen in the Industry since. Beyonce is amazing, and LeToya til this day (if asked) will tell you that Bey is so talented and has always been.

  • I agree CB. Hell yeah you can blame him! If he believed in his daughter’s talent so much he would have launched her solo from the beginning and kept her away from a group. The others thought they were in this together. That’s why I’m glad Toya came back and kicked ass because she can sing, but no one knew because of being backup all the time and poor Kelly and Michelle struggling til this day. And Kelly was so loyal to them, if he looked at her as a daughter the way she looks at them like family, he would be supporting her just as much! That’s the least he could do. He was planning this shit from the beginning. Dreamgirls was really a testament to her true story.

  • Ummmm yall can keep blaming her father all yall want. SHE LIED TOO! Rather he told her to or not. SHE DID LIE!

    Letoya and Latavia were NEVER told they were released from the group.

    Beyonce called Letoya and said D.C was over and they were all getting solo deals. Than, 2 weeks later a new group was on TV so she did lie. She can keep blamming it on daddy all she want. But shes old enough now to tell the truth and she STILL HASNT! Not to mention that evil vindictive survivor song she made to slander and ruin them. Thats not right. She was wrong too.

    And whats the excuse now? Her dad is still jipping the other members and playing favorites… So?
