IS SHONTELLE REALLY THE NEXT RIHANNA?!


Last night ya gurl stopped by a showcase for Shontelle, a new Universal record artist, who is said to be the next Rihanna. Not only is Shontelle gunning for Rihanna’s top spot but apparently the two used to kick it in their high school days.

“We were both active in the Cadets, and I was her Drill Sergeant…there was one occasion when I had to make her ‘drop and give me ten push ups’. We laugh about it now…I think she’s forgiven me.”

Sure they both hail from the beautiful island of Barbados, rock the blondish hair (that was until Rihanna went on her “Good Girl Gone Bad” rampage) and hypnotize you with those light eyes…can Shontelle really compete with the international stunner RiRi? Check out the video clip from last night’s showcase. Though I rolled in sorta late, I managed to get some footage of the Bajan songstress performing her hit single “T-Shirt” off her debut album Shontelligence. WTF?! I would prefered the album name as “Sho-N-Telle” (show and tell)…but what do I know!



Here she is again posing with male supermodel, Miguel Perdomo.

  • No… she’s the wannabe Rihanna… When i heard the song it sounded like a song Rihanna would have done. I like it though… since she [Shontelle] keeps bringing Rihanna up in her interviews it might be her downfall. No one will ever be able to accept her as the artist that she is or want to be…. she will always be Pre- Good Girl Gone bad, watered- down Rihanna… and i got a question… she sound mad white in that song… WHERE THE HELL IS HER ACCENT???

  • If they are both from the same place – wtf you guys want her to talk about Africa? Everyone else try to talk and include Rihanna in their 2 minutes of fame, why the hell can’t she (Shontelle) do the same, if they went to Cadets together, there is nothing wrong with talking about it. There are pictures somewhere to prove what is is talking about – Gosh man!!!!
