KANYE IN NEW SPIKE LEE JOINT & GETS COMEDY CENTRAL SHOW?!

Spike Lee is set to redo his 1988 classic “School Daze” and is looking to make Kanye West the star. Since ‘Ye has done the whole college thing The College DropOut, Late Registration, and Graduation seems like Mr. West would be the perfect fit. Problem is nobody is willing to fund the flick. Tyler Perry is too busy taking over and Oprah is busy opening schools in Africa. Can’t BET help?! Word is the film is to be shot at the same college but with different issues. And thanks to Alicia Keys’ “Teenage Love Affair” video, she’s also being tapped to star in the remake. Lee says:

“The film takes place at the same college but 25 years later, but the powers that be didn’t want to tell that story. It was gonna have Kanye in it and Alicia Keys.”

Looks like the jury still out on this out…

And in other Kanye news, this past weekend he was spotted chillen with MTV honcho Doug Herzog were they sealed the deal on some upcoming business. The MTV Prez told Rush & Molloy:

***UPDATE***

A half-hour pilot has been shot for the project, tentatively titled “Alligator Boots.” It’s from Jackhole Prods., the production company founded by Jimmy Kimmel, Daniel Kellison and Adam Carolla that also was behind Comedy Central’s puppet-centric “Crank Yankers.”

The project, which is under consideration for 2009, would feature music produced and performed by West and fellow rapper Rhymefest, both of whom are serving as executive producers on the pilot alongside Kellison. West also hosts the pilot; the idea is to have a different celebrity guest host for every episode, similar to the setup on the original “Muppet Show.” Source

WOW! Even Rhymefest is joining in on the project…that’s what’s up! Do yourself a favor and tune into ConsTV.
