THINGS THEY SAY: NE-YO-”PEOPLE LOVE DRAMA”

In a world where Britney Spears’ showing off her va-jay-jay to the paps makes the cover of tabloids and Lindsay’s Lohan’s brief stints with rehab make national headlines, no wonder why those who are actually talented can’t get their chance to shine. For instance, let’s use Ne-Yo as an example. It’s evident that the guy is definitely a triple threat; he’s penned songs for Beyonce, Mario, Usher and a slew of other artists and just released his third album Year of the Gentlemen. However, while it’s quite obvious that he’s really talented, he really doesn’t get his props like he should. According to the “Miss Independent” hit maker, people are more interested in the lives of celebrities as opposed to their talent.

“I think that what’s glorified in the business today is drama. I think that I don’t get the same attention today because I’m a fully functional human being. I’m not a heroin addict, I’m not sleeping with 17 different celebrity women.”

He adds,

“Britney Spears isn’t pregnant with my child. And I think that because of that people don’t pay attention to me as they do to some of these other cats. I just think it’s sad that the industry thrives on drama and trainwrecks as opposed to talent.”

Why is Ne-Yo acting like he hasn’t had his share of drama (memba those sidekick pics showing Ne-Yo getting special attention??)…stop acting brand new!
