After being dropped by Def Jam in 2006 just a month after the release of her third album, “So Amazin”, Miss Christina Milian is back on the scene sportin’ a new deal with MySpace Records. In a recent interview with Billboard Christina discusses her new album which drops next spring and how much she’s grown as an artist. The first single on the album, Us Against The World, is a “cinematic power ballad” produced by Madd Scientist (Leona Lewis, Jesse McCartney) and will drop on October 6 on MySpace.com

“I’ve been out of the game for one-and-a-half years, and I think I’m long overdue for a comeback, so I’m treating this album like it’s my last chance to make an impression. I’m competing with myself and being very detailed. Before, I had a label telling me what direction to go in. Now, it’s my choice, so I’m being very particular about it and I’m really excited.”

Christina describes the album as being “very feminine, strong and independent”. She’s enlisted the help of the hottest producers in the game which includes T-Pain, Cool and Dre, Jim Jonsin, Toby Gad and Danja. As of right now Kanye West is the only guest feature, but Christina does hint at some possible collabos in the near future. The album also includes tracks like “Diamond”, “Stay” which Christina compares to an early ‘90’s Madonna track and the Euro-club track “Tug of War”.

Now one thing is certain, Christina is definitely trying to start over and sees her new deal with MySpace as being just that! She says,

“ I have a lot of support from my peers. I have lots of people that love me and want the best for me. Sometimes things don’t work out the right way, but I know I work my butt off on my end. As long as you know you worked hard, you feel accomplished. Thankfully, I took the time off to check out what’s going on and now I’m back, and MySpace is allowing me to do tons of different things creatively”.

Glad to hear Christina is finally working on something other than red carpets…and we’re feeling that MySpace Records promo pic- very haute!
