While lil’ sis Solange is trying so desperately to break out of Beyonce’s shadow, Be is also trying to break out of her own damn shadow! According to Jay, she’s the hottest chick in the game rockin’ his chain, but Be insists that she doesn’t want to be that chick anymore. Shorty wants to be known for being more than just a sex symbol. Check out what she says in the October issue of Marie Claire,
“I’m over being a pop star. I don’t wanna be a hot girl. I wanna be iconic. And I feel like I’ve accomplished a lot. I feel like I’m highly respected, which is more important than any award or any amount of records. I feel like there comes a point when being a pop star is not enough. I am really proud that I am one of the artists that has the opportunity to be on magazine covers and to be in the movies. And I do think that I’m opening doors for more black women, just like Halle Berry and Diana Ross opened doors for me”.
She also spoke about her stage persona, whom she has named Sasha and says that she entirely loses herself in her alter ego when she performs.
“I have out-of-body experiences. If I cut my leg, if I fall, I don’t even feel it. I’m so fearless, I’m not aware of my face or my body.”
Did she just in a few words compare herself to Jesus?! WTF?!

Lex, chill out! That girl didn’t say she’s Jesus! LOL! She’s just trying to say she’s so focused on her performance that other things don’t occur to her/she doesn’t feel them until after it’s over. After seeing that fall last summer, I’d say she’s being truthul because I KNOW that isht hurt, but she got her ass right back up and kept it moving as wildly as Sasha McCreole does. LMAO!
